Applications are encouraged to address one or more of the following FY19 PH/TBIRP CTRR Areas of Emphasis:
-
-
- Objective outcome measures of brain impairment after mTBI using existing U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-cleared devices (offered in CTA and CRA)
- Develop objective measure(s) of brain function that determines severity of functional impairment
- Correlate brain function to RTD performance
- Optimization of treatment strategy based on patient classification to improve management of patients with mTBI as described above (offered in CTA and CRA)
-
- Determine indicators of successful recovery following mTBI
- Validate algorithms for multi-modal treatment strategies
-
- Return-to-Duty (RTD) risk assessment; computational model development or validation (offered in CRA only)
- Integrate objective mild TBI (mTBI) patient data from multiple domains through computational modeling to inform RTD capability
- Clinical support tool leveraging computational modeling to measure and communicate risk associated with returning injured Warfighters to duty following mTBI
- Objective outcome measures of brain impairment after mTBI using existing U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-cleared devices (offered in CTA and CRA)
-
Projects focused on other research areas relevant to the intent of the CTRR-CTA or CRA may be submitted for consideration, provided sufficient justification is included in the application.
Applications without clinical trials should be submitted under the FY19 PH/TBIRP CTRR Clinical Research Award (Funding Opportunity Number W81XWH-19-CTRR-CRA).
