Sep 18, 2019 | Optometry HQ Announcements

VA’s Health Services Research and Development Service (HSR&D) is seeking to fund researchers and evaluators to spend time in clinical program and VISN offices to help with analysis and bring research knowledge to policy and program planning. With expertise in research methods and analyses, HSR&D investigators are primed to partner with program leaders, with the goal of helping to better inform future VA programs and policies, and ultimately the care of Veterans. Program or operations offices will benefit from advanced analytic expertise and access to a network of research knowledge, as well as additional support towards VISN Leadership Plan goals regarding innovation and best practices spread. Examples of suitable projects include analyzing the impact of a policy change; developing evidence-based policy responses to an emerging clinical problem; or exploring factors associated with variation in clinical performance. Recent residents and their related projects can be found here.

Funding for personnel salary, travel, and lodging during the program will be provided by the Office of Research and Development (ORD).

For details, please see the solicitation document and web submission form. Questions should be directed to the Researchers in Residence mailbox (vhacohsrdrir@va.gov).
