VA is committed to maintaining a workforce that is free from illegal drug use. It is a condition of employment for all employees to refrain from using illegal drugs on and off duty; and this includes our Health Professions Trainees. Even as states legalize drugs, Federal laws prevail at the VA. To educate our HPTs, Programs and Affiliates, OAA has put together a VA Drug-Free Workplace Guide for HPTs
We encourage you to share this information with all Academic Affiliates, Program Directors, and both current and prospective HPTs so expectations and due process procedures are understood from the beginning.
