JoMO is launching.  Consider JoMO for your next publication:

MISSION:
We want JoMO to be where optometrists go to publish and learn about the Specialty of Medical Optometry which encompasses the medical diagnosis, management and treatment of primary and secondary diseases and disorders of the human eye, adnexa and visual tracts. Our vision is to create a high-quality professional journal that offers focused case reports and literature reviews as well as original research and articles.
TYPES of ARTICLES: JoMO will accept original articles, original research, case reports and literature reviews, article reviews, textbook reviews, photo essays, editorial columns and even “guess-the-disease” images. After they publish several issues, they plan to do occasional “theme-oriented issues” that focus on specific diseases and problems.
SIZE OF ARTICLES: In general, case reports near 2000 words (4 pages, single spaced) are desired. Articles and research could be longer, reviews and photo-based articles could be shorter.
EDITORIAL STYLE: JoMO will adhere to the AP style of writing. See links below.
PUBLICATION MEDIUM: Publications will be online. This was chosen based on cost and convenience as most readers prefer online content consumption over print.
AUTHOR SUBMISSIONS: There will be a URL/link on the JoMO website for online submissions. They’ll encourage authors to submit ideas for articles before drafting an article. The submission link is currently being hosted by ABCMO but will move to the Journal website after the first issue is published.
AUTHOR QUALIFICATIONS: Authors (and members of the Editorial Board) do not have to be Board Certified in the Specialty of Medical Optometry by the American Board of Certification in Medical Optometry (ABCMO). However, they must have experience and training proper for the “level” of content sent for review.
