The Rural Interprofessional Faculty Development Initiative (RIFDI) is announcing a call for participants in its fourth cohort. RIDFI is a collaborative effort between the Office of Academic Affiliations (OAA) and the Office of Rural Health (ORH) to establish a faculty development program for health professions education (HPE) activities at VA facilities serving rural Veterans. Eligible VA facilities include VA facilities with a greater than 40% rurality proportion of Veterans served, with a large rural community-based outpatient clinic (CBOC) and/or with limited graduate medical education trainees (defined as fewer than 20 FTE annually). Eligible facilities are listed in the attached announcement.
Each eligible facility can nominate up to two interprofessional clinician educators interested in developing their skills as educators and advancing HPE in their facility. Participation requires 2 hours per week over the 18-month program.
