Orthotics & Prosthetics Residency Education Expansion Initiative Request for Proposals Released
The Office of Academic Affiliations (OAA) is pleased to announce the Orthotics & Prosthetics (O&P) Residency Education Expansion Initiative Request for Proposals (RFP) for fiscal year 2025/academic year 2024-2025. The RFP document and memorandum provide information, requirements and procedures to VA medical facilities seeking to initiate a new O&P residency program or add a new discipline (Orthotics or Prosthetics) to an existing O&P residency program. Established O&P programs with both disciplines already funded and wishing to increase allocations should not apply through this RFP. A non-binding Letter of Intent (LOI) to submit the RFP application is due to OAA by July 14. The full RFP application is due to OAA by September 15. Nurse Residency Expansion Initiative Phase V Request for Proposals
OAA is pleased to announce the opportunity for VA facilities to establish OAA-funded nurse residency programs for Post-Baccalaureate Registered Nurse Residency (PB-RNR), Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Residency (MH-NPR), and Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Residency (PC-NPR). The Request for Proposals (RFP) announcement provides information, policies, and application procedures for facilities seeking to implement OAA-funded residency programs in Academic Year 2024-2025. A non-binding Letter of Intent (LOI) to submit a proposal is due to OAA by June 30. Sites applying for more than one residency must submit an LOI for each program. STRONG Veterans Act Mental Health Expansion Request for Proposals: LOI DEADLINE EXTENDED
OAA is pleased to announce the STRONG Veterans Act Mental Health Expansion Request for Proposals (RFP) for Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselors (LPMHC) and Marriage and Family Therapists (MFT) for the fiscal year 2025/ academic year 2024-2025. This initiative is a response to the STRONG Veterans Act of 2022, Section 103. The RFP targets VA facilities looking to establish a new LPMHC or MFT training program and established programs interested in increasing allocations. A non-binding Letter of Intent to submit the RFP application is due to OAA by June 23, 2023. EARs V.5 Workbook for HPT Tracking
Effective July 1, facilities are required to implement the Academic Year (AY) 2023-2024 EARs Version 5 Workbook. OAA’s Medical and Dental Education Section will conduct AY 2023-2024 EARs V5 Q&A Hour to answer additional questions about the new workbook.
